Health is naturally one of the most important aspects that a breeder can prioritize. For me, health, in addition to official health checks, means a well-balanced, functional structure and a dog with a healthy nervous system, with whom daily life and activities are smooth and enjoyable. In addition to this, my goal is to focus on the traits required in working and rescue dogs. I emphasize the working motivation of the dog, good nerves, fighting spirit, as well as both mental and physical endurance. An important characteristic, of course, is scent work, which I place great emphasis on.
Good nerve structure is also needed in obedience tasks, and of course, the dog must be able to learn the things taught to it, generalize them, and maintain its ability to function in demanding situations. I also hope for confidence, perseverance, and problem-solving ability in a kelpie. A kelpie should also have the right amount of handler softness. The kelpie is a sensitive herding dog, and it is at its best in the hands of a kind handler who listens to the dog and can guide it forward in a fair, determined, and friendly manner.
about breeding
My name is Jonna Jussila, and I live in Kankaanpää. My family includes my partner Patrik, our dogs, and five cats. We live in a detached house in the countryside, about 10 km from the center of Kankaanpää. I work as a secretary in a family business. In my free time, I engage in dog sports, mainly tracking, and occasionally obedience and sledding. I am friendly and approachable by nature.

In breeding, openness and honesty are very important to me. Quality always comes before quantity, and I will never make a combination that I don’t believe in or wouldn’t want a puppy from myself. I strive to give each of my puppies the best possible start in life, to the extent that I can influence it. My dogs are always first and foremost family members, then training partners, and only lastly breeding dogs.

In dog training, I consider fairness and common sense to be the most important factors. The training should be meaningful for both the dog and the owner, and no result or trial is more important than the dog, our important four-legged friend.

In addition to dog sports, another passion of mine is animal welfare. I am one of the founders of the Kankaanpää Animal Welfare Association, and it has been a major part of my everyday life. However, nowadays, dog training has started to take up so much time and resources that, unfortunately, animal welfare work has been put on the back burner
